The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, on the progress made in the re-establishment of diplomatic relations with the Dominican Republic and Chile, asserted that the Bolivarian Government has always maintained its willingness to dialogue, “those who decided at the time to break relations were them”.

During the usual PSUV press conference, Cabello Rondón celebrated that these countries are “coming to their senses” because everyone can have their political position but “the nationals don't have to pay the consequences”.

In that regard, he recalled that when diplomatic relations break up there are no consulates and attention to people is lost. “That attention is necessary,” he emphasized.

“We have turned the page and will continue to move forward with any country that says so,” he reiterated.
