This Monday, August 3rd, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed that the red awning remains deployed with all its structures to support the care of families affected by the earthquakes of last June 24.
“We are still deployed, the party with all
its structures, in special, direct, conscious, supportive support, detached
from the colleagues who had to suffer the consequences
of the earthquakes of June 24,” he said during a PSUV press conference.
He stated that the political organization continues to
fulfill the assigned tasks, “adding efforts to everything that the national government has been
doing to serve our people in the different
camps that exist” in La Guaira, Caracas, Miranda and Aragua.
He also took the opportunity to recognize
the people who, despite what they suffered because of the
earthquakes, “are there with their pain, with their sadness, but always with
enthusiasm and with the desire to move forward and to continue fighting and to continue working”.
“All our recognition goes to
them; and all the efforts that can be made go to
that noble people, to that loving people of La Guaira, Caracas,
Miranda, Aragua, Yaracuy, Carabobo and Falcón, who suffered the consequences,” he said.
In the same way, he mentioned that, since June 24, seismic activity in the country has not stopped, noting that there have already been 1,654 aftershocks. “There were two, between yesterday and the day before yesterday, more than four in magnitude, and that, of course, sets off alarms (...) This has been decreasing the number of events per day,” he stressed.
