The Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology of the state of Falcón (Fundacite), through the Cayapa Heroica National Plan, put into operation medical equipment in the Emergency Area of the Dr. Alfredo Van Grieken University Hospital in Coro, through the design and 3D printing of an essential component for an electrocardiograph.

According to a press release, in this initiative, a roller part of the printing system was designed in 3D for the Contec electrocardiograph, model ECG300G. This component is essential for the maintenance of the equipment and made it possible to restore its full functioning. It is estimated that, after the installation of the replacement, approximately 6,000 patients will benefit monthly.

The technical work was carried out by the T.S.U. Sergio Polanco, who carried out this work at the Biomedical Engineering Training Center of the National Experimental University Francisco de Miranda (Unefm).
