On August 16, 2006, Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez signed the decree creating the Center for Cultural Diversity, in order to encourage the development of heritage networks, represented in all regions of the country through groups of traditional cultures belonging to different peoples.
La Foundation, currently attached to the Ministry for Culture, has within its heritage important collections represented by different audiovisual, ethnographic and other types of documents, on the popular knowledge of Venezuela.
Cada year this center is deployed to the regions, to reaffirm the strengths acquired in terms of policies and shared management with the communities of 23 Venezuelan states, with the commitment to respect all cultures, defending in a very particular way the traditions transmitted from generation to generation.
A 19 years after this revolutionary creation, the people celebrate this day that they remember as the starting point of the policy of inclusion and the recognition of cultural diversity.
