The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, celebrated this Thursday the 20th anniversary of Commander Hugo Chávez's speech from the Caracas Botanical Garden, where he declared the anti-imperialist nature of the Bolivarian Revolution.

Through his account on the social network X, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister noted that on that day Commander Chávez “reaffirmed the firm commitment of our people to their self-determination and inspired nations around the world.”

He stressed that “today we will once again demonstrate our unity together with President Nicolás Maduro. Down with imperialism! We will win!”.

On February 29, 2004, before a crowd that mobilized for peace and against paramilitarism, Commander Chávez declared that the Bolivarian Revolution assumed an anti-imperialist character, after overcoming multiple attacks and attempts at destabilization, so he called for civic-military union to defend the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela.
