Chávez Gigante: Venezuela will continue to be more independent every day

From Los Jardines del Valle, in Caracas, on February 28, 2009, Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez assured that the Bolivarian Revolution will continue its course and Venezuela will continue to be more independent every day.
This statement was made by Chávez in response to the onslaught of the US government, at the time led by Barack Obama. “Regardless of the North American empire, its lies and its aggressions, Venezuela will continue to be sovereign,” Chávez said.
In that regard, he urged all the authorities of the Bolivarian Government not to let their guard down and to be more efficient every day.
“Every day the Government must be closer to the People, meeting the needs of the People and the People every day more aware of this battle, that no one lets their guard down,” he said.
Chávez recalled that the Obama Administration said that Venezuela and his person do not collaborate in the fight against drug trafficking and that it has become one of the countries that most supports drug trafficking, but “one of the countries that most supports drug trafficking on this planet is called the United States.”
“The United States is the first drug user in the world and how is it that they cannot stop the drug from entering their own territory, how is that? What cynicism!” , he said.
Chavez called on Obama to do his thing. “Don't follow the path of stupidity. Show a little intelligence, President Obama and your Secretary of State.”
He emphasized that the Bolivarian Government has hit drug trafficking like never before in Venezuela, in different ways.
“Go wash that avocado, Mr. Obama. Whoever wants can translate it into Creole, I have nothing more to say. My country hurts, and I defend even with my life the dignity of Venezuela, of my people who are respected. There will be no empire that disrespects us again,” he said.
