Chávez Invicto: We are obliged to prepare to defend Bolivar's Homeland!

On November 13, 2009, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, reaffirmed that this people had the right to prepare for the defense of the Homeland against the threats and aggressions of North American imperialism.

“We are obliged to prepare to defend the Homeland of Bolivar, the Homeland of our children! Even if it costs us our lives! But this homeland will never be a colony again, ever again,” he emphasized from Avenida Universidad in Caracas.

For this reason, he sent a clear message to imperialism: “If they come to attack Venezuela, you're not going to get a solitary Chávez, you're not going to get some solitary soldiers, here you're going to get all of us together the people and the Armed Forces of Bolivar, the entire nation in defense of freedom, peace, sovereignty and the future of Venezuela.”

He stressed that our country was not calling for any war, so he warned the People that they will not allow themselves to be manipulated by stateless sectors.

“The one who is here encouraging the war is the Yankee empire; I am calling on all Venezuelans to love this country, to prepare to defend the holy land of Venezuela, that is quite another thing (...) I don't care what the scoundrels say, the scoundrels and Patria sells them, I am obliged to do it. I am obliged to call on all Venezuelans to prepare for combat, to defend this Homeland. And if not who is going to defend it? I would come out in front, and behind me a People to defend this Homeland,” he said.
