On January 10, 2009, from the Guárico state, the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, emphasized the importance of promoting Bolivarianism as an ideology.

“Bolivarianism as the central thesis of our 21st century political ideology, of our 21st century Socialism, there are enough nutrients in Bolivar's thought and action for this task, only that we must study a lot, think and develop the idea,” he said.

Likewise, Chá vez urged us to value the third point of Bolivarian thought for the benefit of the People for a “greatest possible sum of happiness”. And to be happy you don't have to be a millionaire, rich, and have large tracts of land and billion-dollar accounts, no, you have to live with dignity. I, for example, was a poor boy, I was a down-to-earth child, but I was a happy child, but a happy child, I was very happy as a child, you see? As I want and hope that all Venezuelan children will be.”

To defeat hatred, resentment, selfishness, low ambitions. These are typical of capitalism, of the anti-values that sowed us, and they continue to bombard us with them. Let's defeat them, let's keep defeating them,” said the Bolivarian leader.
