Chávez on Diosdado Cabello: Loyal Man, Soldier, Brother and Companion

On April 13, 2008, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution , Hugo Chávez, recognized Captain Diosdado Cabello for being a loyal man, a good soldier, brother and companion, when the Fatherland needed it.

“You have to have the picture of Diosdado painted and you have to put it there in the gallery of presidents, because Diosdado was president for a few hours. How long was it? 5 hours, it was good government... A round of applause to Diosdado Cabello, soldier, friend, brother and colleague (...) I recognize the loyalty of Diosdado Cabello Rondón, to the loyalty of his good friend, of the good companion,” said the Commander, recalling the events of the 2002 coup d'etat.

He also emphasized the value of loyalty and stressed that loyalty is tested in difficult times. “In the small moments of life, on the edge of life and death, true loyalties are tested there when death hangs around. Like the loyalty of all of you and all of you, colleagues, comrades,” he said.
