During his Theoretical Hello President #5, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, emphasized the cynicism of the neighboring country, Colombia, and of the United States Government in calling Venezuela a narco-state, “Cynicism has no limits!” , he said.
“The problem is theirs, not ours, and they want to push the problem away from us. How beautiful it is! , you set fire to your house and you say: No, my neighbor set it on fire for me; that's the thing with Colombia, and the Yankees support them in that. Drug trafficking... Where is the origin? In Colombia, we are victims of that, and consumer goods are in the United States,” said the Commander on July 23, 2009 from Fort Tiuna in Caracas.
Chávez said that Colombia is to blame, which has been unable to put an end to drug trafficking, either with Plan Colombia or with anything. “They are the narco-state,” he said.
In that regard, he emphasized that Colombia acted as a bad neighbor and that is why “we are obliged to review commercial, economic and political relations with Colombia, we are obliged, we cannot remain silent, nor can we stand idly by.”
