Chávez on imperialism: Today he once again shows his murderous and invasive claw

On May 16, 2004, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, warned that imperialism, faced with its failure to impose its neoliberal model on the world, is now once again taking off its mask and “showing us its bloody fangs and bloody claws”.

“Once again, we have at the forefront of the old imperialism, murderer of peoples, which has now left aside the recommendations of the technocrats and the proposals of free trade and respect for the dictates of the United Nations and respect for international law, and we are simply presented to the front again as it is: murderer and invader,” said the Commander from Bolívar Avenue in Caracas.

He also condemned the attacks of imperialism, supported by sectors of the extreme right, against Venezuela. At the same time, he reaffirmed that all the attacks were defeated by the dignified Venezuelan people.
