Chávez to the PSUV: Power for the People is the slogan of this Revolution

“The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) must undertake the task of organizing the communes with the people, the grouping of the Communal Councils into instances of popular self-government, 'all the power for the People ', is the slogan of this Revolution,” said Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez, the March 2, 2008.

From Maracaibo, Zulia state, Chávez invited the PSUV to fight this battle with the government and with the people to give peace of mind, security to the Venezuelan family on the streets, in neighborhoods, in housing estates, to fight against the underworld, against drug trafficking, drug use, alcoholism, violence in the streets, domestic violence, etc.

“The Party must join this great battle against corruption at all levels and everywhere, transparency, accountability of the local government, state governments, the National Government, the Party must join the momentum of Popular Power”.

In that sense, he insisted that the Party must work for the unity of all revolutionaries in Venezuela, for unity with the nationalist sectors and to incorporate into the great patriotic alliance sectors of the conscious nationalist middle class.

He also called for taking advantage of scientific and technological advances to generate participatory dynamics, permanent every day, “that there be a permanent and constant exchange between socialist battalions, directorates, constituencies, local authorities, regional offices, the National Directorate, that there be a lot of exchange with other actors in political life”.

“Socialist battalions must be strengthened, because they are the fundamental nuclei of the Party body, let's not allow a single one of those battalions to be blown away by the wind, let's not allow any of those battalions to disintegrate, divide, minimize or disappear on the battlefield,” he said.
