In an emotional message, Commander Hugo Chávez expressed his determination in the face of the medical treatment he must face in Havana, assuring that he will do so with discipline and strength.
During his speech, Chávez expressed his confidence in victory and the future, declaring that he will carry the Venezuelan people in his heart at every moment of his recovery. “I swear to you that I will live and accompany you in the new victories,” he said on February 23, 2012 during the Teresa Carreño Theater.
The revolutionary leader also evoked Alberto Arvelo Torrealba's poem as a symbol of his will to return and continue the anti-imperialist struggle. In the midst of an expression of affection and support from the attendees, he reaffirmed his commitment to the Bolivarian Revolution, proclaiming with force: “Long live the Fatherland! Long live the Revolution! Long live the Bolivarian People! “
Chávez concluded his speech with a message of hope, stressing that neither illness nor adversity can stop the will of a people determined to achieve new conquests.
