Commander Hugo Chávez called for the consolidation of revolutionary unity as a strategic axis to guarantee the present and future victories of the Venezuelan people.

During his speech, on Avenida Bolívar in Caracas, on June 2, 2007, he emphasized that “the union of all Bolivarian and revolutionary currents constitutes “the moral and political force that sustains the Fatherland”.

He stressed that unity is not an abstract concept, but rather a practical and permanent commitment between the people, the working class, the peasants, cultural movements and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.

“Only unity will allow us to continue to reap victories,” he said, evoking the teachings of the Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh and his call for cohesion as a path to liberation.

Chávez insisted that the process must be deepened in all areas of the country, recalling that Simon Bolivar warned of the need to “merge the national soul into a whole” to avoid fragmentation and historical regression.
