CICPC arrested and dismissed four officials who appropriated economic values found among rubble in La Guaira

The officials were placed under the command of the 68th National Prosecutor's Office.

The Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), this Tuesday, June 30, issued a statement in which it made a firm and categorical statement in accordance with the principles of transparency, ethics and rectitude that govern our police institution.

In this context, in its account on the social network, the CICPC, reported that “in view of the recent events that occurred in the areas affected by the seismic events in the state of La Guaira, it was found that a group of officials, deviating from their duties and taking advantage of rescue and humanitarian assistance, acted in an undignified manner by appropriating economic values found in the rubble”.

He specified that the arrest and disposition before the corresponding court of the citizens Aguilar Reyes Maya; Fredy Rafael Lugo Oliveros; Roger Andrés Omaña and Josue Jhonatan Burgos Sánchez, who were arrested by commissions of the Criminal Investigations Division in the Public Service of the CICPC and placed under the command of the 68th National Prosecutor's Office with competence in matters of crimes against corruption of the Public Ministry (MP).

He emphasized that this individual conduct, reprehensible and contrary to the fundamental values of our doctrine, directly undermines institutional prestige and the respect due to citizenship.

As a result, the Board of Directors of this institution has immediately taken the following decisive actions: Administrative investigation process and the definitive and irrevocable separation of their positions from all the officials involved and a corresponding disciplinary investigation was initiated for their immediate dismissal
