After the great victory of December 6, 1998, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, highlighted the great courage of the People of Venezuela and therefore reaffirmed that their whole being belonged to them in this new road to the construction of the new Homeland.
“This is a town of liberators! And this is demonstrated today for everyone. Today is a day for history. Me, you know that what I am is a soldier. And now as President of Venezuela, my status is not going to change at all: Soldier of a people! Man from a village! Fighter of a people! Willing to do anything for a people (...) I, Hugo Chávez Frías, do not belong to myself, I, my whole being belongs to you, to the people of Venezuela,” said the Commander from the Ateneo de Caracas.
In that sense, he emphasized that “For now”, had become “The time has come and the time has come (...) for true peace, for true democracy and for justice ”.
