On November 14, 2010, during the broadcast of the program Aló Presidente, number 367, broadcast from the Miraflores Palace in Caracas, Commander Hugo Chávez alerted the country to the mercantilist nature of capitalism and its direct impact on the exploitation of Venezuelan families. He also pointed out that this logic of excessive profit is the main cause of recent cases of fraud and sabotage against strategic public services, orchestrated, in his opinion, by sectors of the bourgeoisie.

“So notice one thing, capitalism that we started talking about, capitalism and its mode of control and exploitation, everything becomes a commodity and for the capitalists into profit, computers, housing, these last cases that we have been uncovering thanks to the people, thanks to the Venezuelan family, are part of that nature of capitalism, of capital and this must be linked to the cases of those good so many cases that we already have, the ball quotas for example, the banks and their so-called parallel market. That it is the government, the tyrannical regime of Chávez that persecutes them, in any case they are persecuted by the law and they flee cowardly after having defrauded thousands and thousands of Venezuelans,” he said.

The Bolivarian leader stressed that the National Executive has taken legal measures against those who have defrauded the population, also denouncing that the saboteurs intend to create a climate of chaos in vital infrastructures to turn citizens against their own government.

Faced with these actions, the Commander urged the population to observe carefully who their real historical enemies are and who are those who have tried to overthrow a political process focused on social justice. Finally, Chávez sent a message to workers and the middle class, asking them not to allow themselves to be manipulated by the narratives of those who have exploited them, stating: “This is a government allied with the working class, allied with the middle class, make no mistake about the middle class.”
