On August 27, 2011, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, called for the consolidation of South America as a territory of peace, free from coups, invasions or induced wars. “We have to consolidate South America as a territory of peace, where it will not happen again if coups d'etat, if invasions, or induced wars. We are on that path,” he said from the Miraflores Palace. He also highlighted Venezuela's strengths in terms of organization, popular conscience and national defense, to face the permanent threats of imperialism and its lackeys, who are always ready to “play the game of dogs, the game of violence, the game of destabilization”. “One of those strengths is the conscience of our people, the organization and popular mobilization of our party and our political alliances, of the Patriotic Pole, the clarity of our people, the lights, the conscience, the strengthening of national power, of popular power,” he emphasized, recalling all the neutralized attacks. For this reason, he reiterated that in the face of any attempt against the Homeland, the People must be united to defeat them and preserve peace.
