The Bolivarian Military Aviation (AMB), supported by the inventiveness of Venezuelan professionals, has managed to carry out important maintenance and conservation tasks on its weapons systems, overcoming the difficulties caused by the economic blockade imposed by the United States on our country, said the general commander of this military component, M/G Lenín Lorenzo Ramírez Villasmil.

During the ceremony for the 105th anniversary of the AMB, Ramírez Villasmil pointed out that among the innovations achieved by our men and women in slate blue, the optimization of engine test benches for F-16 and T-27 Tucano aircraft stands out.

In addition, with Venezuelan labor, more than 70,000 hours of maintenance have been carried out on the Sukhoi MK2 systems; more than 500 hours of maintenance on Cougar aircraft. Also, the recovery of 135 ejection cartridges has been advanced, “which has represented significant savings for the nation”.

In addition, our technicians, as explained by the senior military officer, have succeeded in manufacturing the braking parachutes for Sukhoi aircraft.

On the other hand, he stressed that the AMB, using its various means and weapons systems, has succeeded in disabling 24 aircraft belonging to groups linked to international drug trafficking so far in 2025.

In the same way, he emphasized that the FANB remains alert and ready to defend our Homeland against the growing threats of imperialism. “We will not tolerate actions against the peace of our people, we will not be anyone's colony,” he stressed.
