Controlled demolition at the Tower of David is 72% complete

The roof of the Tower of David elevator pit, located in La Candelaria parish in Caracas, has more than a 72% improvement in controlled demolition.

This was announced by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, who, based on the words of the president of the Municipal Institute for Risk Management and Disaster Management, engineer Iván Martínez, the seismic double of last June 24 caused the displacement of the structure, located in the parking module of the tower, due to the cutting of the four columns of its first level.

In this regard, he explained that the area under demolition has two spaces: one 4.40 meters high and the other 3.40 m, and the shear caused by the earthquakes in its columns resulted in the sliding of the structure, which weighs approximately 13 tons, so our brigades acted immediately to protect bystanders and residents of the area.
