Hello my friend Furrileaño. But Peroooooamente, but with my heart set on La Guaira and my people. It hasn't been easy. Brother! I must confess that until recently I came to think that Venezuelan extremism, led by María “La Chick-Flada” Machado and her communication swarm, which includes a court of sycophants, had reached the height of ridicule and its blunders.
As is often the case when one believes that the limit of absurdity has already been reached, the last few hours have demonstrated that for them there is always room for a new political stumbling block. What happened not only left me with the feeling of having received a real slap in the face, but it also has more than one powerful person on this side of the world more heated than a tumbarranch at Christmas: stunned, with tons of smoke to process and an imminent explosion that no one knows exactly where it will end up.
But oooo... let's take a short break to break the ice: I have returned to my outdoor adventures, this time very well accompanied by my new best friend, my “Fi-Fi” puppy. It's quite a beast, a real four-legged monster that makes anyone tremble. He is more trained than an FBI dog and has the attitude of a secret agent on a special mission. Now comes the big question: why can't you guess why I gave it that name? I sent you a photo so you can get to know him.
Anyway, let's do our thing.
Brother! The word “failure” is absurdly small to describe the monumental political shipwreck led by Venezuelan extremism and its eternal factory of expectations, led by “La Chick-flada” Machado, after the call for a protest this Tuesday, July 28.
What was sold with fanfare, bombastic statements and a generous dose of propaganda as a supposed demonstration of force ended up becoming another episode of the same repeated series: a lot of commercials, a lot of prefabricated epics and a reality that, once again, refused to obey the script written from the offices of political fantasy.
The machinery of illusions once again crashed against the wall of facts, revealing a leadership specialized in proclaiming victories ahead of time, announcing historic moments and presenting each stumbling block as a “brilliant strategy”. The problem is that reality has a bad habit of not warning, which is why it always ends up exploding in their faces.
Once again, they promised an epic and delivered just an echo. They announced a demonstration of muscle and ended up showing the seams of a structure that seems to be supported more on inflated expectations than on true mobilization capacity.
But behind this public failure, obvious and difficult to hide under tons of propaganda, there is another, much deeper failure: one that is not measured in empty streets, but in the loss of credibility with those who observe from the outside and make decisions.
Our dear friend La Charlotte —who, of course, you can't help but greet her in English—confessed to me that Mrs. Machado's lobby, in a last attempt to build a parallel reality, had sold to the U.S. administration the idea that this day would be “convincing proof” that “La Chick-flada” supposedly kept its leadership within Venezuela intact.
Spoiler: reality had a surprise in store for them.
You can imagine the level of discomfort — and even embarrassment from others — when the reports started coming in from the field. The most ironic thing about the matter is that they did not come from Chavism or its political opponents, but from its own people, who supposedly expected that what was announced on social networks would coincide with the street.
And there came the awkward moment: when the propaganda clashed with the evidence and the carefully packaged narrative began to crumble in the face of real data.
La Charlotte tells me that, far from strengthening her aspirations, the result ended up being a real political boomerang. Instead of promoting its strategy, Maricorinism ended up digging even deeper the hole it was already in, adding additional meters to a political pit that seems to have no bottom.
The episode only reinforced the perception that multiple U.S. officials have pointed out on several occasions: María Corina cannot demonstrate a solid base of internal support, she does not have sufficient recognition as a leader, and she has no effective capacity to exercise leadership with true national reach. Because narrative carefully packaged in private meetings, speeches and communication campaigns is one thing; reality is quite another when the time comes to measure forces on the ground.
In the end, the great epics announced ended up looking more like those smoke castles that disappear as soon as the wind comes. A lot of scenery, a lot of noise and, in the end, very little behind the curtain.
THE MOST SERIOUS THING WOULD COME LATER
Goddess! If the above was still not enough to portray the level of decomposition reached by Venezuelan extremism, what happened with the supposed trade unionist José Patines ends up painting the full picture: a tragicomic spectacle starring characters who seem determined to show that they can always fall a little lower.
José Patines, turned into a kind of traveling caricature of opposition radicalism and one of the prop agitators that “La Chick-flada” Machado uses today, once again made it clear that when opposition extremism runs out of arguments, they resort to noise, intimidation and cheap entertainment. But this time the circus has crossed a dangerous line.
The uncontrolled performance of Patines reflects the growing threat of an equally desperate María Corina. Our dear friend Murphy, who is still working for the FBI, told me that a security report set off alarms in Washington, generating a serious security alert about Machado and his people after José Patines tried to violate spaces where American officials were located.
Goddess! It's one thing to stage a protest for the cameras and quite another to play the adventure of confrontation believing that there are no consequences.
The scene, worthy of a film in bad taste, included attacks against hotel security personnel, threats and inappropriate expressions directed against the diplomatic representation. Brother! In Washington, these things are not kept in the drawer of oblivion or taken as a simple corner tantrum. They take that very seriously.
But I wonder: what would have happened if they had managed to access that hotel, violating private property? What would have happened if the security forces had arrested that man, in the event of an attack against diplomats? These are questions that remain in the air, I very much doubt that the United States will support the story of “repression” and classify them as “political prisoners”. We were always right, they are not politicians, they are terrorists.
THROW AWAY THE STONE AND HIDE YOUR HAND
The recent statement signed by “La Chick-Flada” and Inmundo González, in the face of the forthcoming installation of a technical panel between the legitimate National Assembly chaired by our brother Jorge Rodríguez and the former deputies of AN-2015, only confirms what I have been telling you: they are trying to set up a cosmetic operation to sell a supposed “good faith” that not even their own followers seem able to digest.
María Corina announces that she “will not hinder” the process, in an admirable demonstration of political imagination, as if she had just discovered a veto power that she never had and as if her signature were the master key to conversations where no one invited her. But the mask of the “moderate” woman who is not an “obstacle” was short-lived. While she is trying to sell an image of wisdom and responsibility to the international community, within our politics, she activated her machinery of attacks against anyone who does not follow the script, including those who are supposedly her own allies in that kind of ill-armed puzzle called PUPÚ (Unitary Platform).
The contradiction is so evident that it already seems like a repeated spectacle: they talk about unity while sowing divisions; they promise responsibility while fueling the conflict; they invoke democracy while turning every political space into a fight of ego, guilt and conspiracy.
THEY WALK LIKE DOGS AND CATS.
My friend Furrialeño. When there are only hours left before the installation of this technical table, the picture within the opposition is only breaking down. Internal struggles can no longer be hidden and the war of egos reached a boiling point. What they tried to sell for months as a supposed “monolithic unit” ended up being reduced to a fight of interests, personal ambitions and stab wounds in the back. *
The spectacle is so grotesque that even the pseudo-journalists of that court of sycophants, who for years acted as public relations officers disguised as communicators, are now publicly tearing each other apart. They accuse, disqualify and take their toll on each other, exposing the opportunism, meanness and hypocrisy that they tried for so long to hide behind a discourse of false moral superiority.
Our dear friend MilkeWake, who, as you know, is still very well connected to the upper echelons of power, tells me that in the last few hours other factors of the Unitary Platform have also begun to move heaven and earth so as not to be left out of photography. Despair is no longer disguised. Those who until yesterday ranted against any mechanism of dialogue are now lining up, sending emissaries and looking, through every crack, for a seat at the table that they swore not to recognize.
The conversations continue as I write these lines. The priority seems to be to arrive before the door is closed, because they discovered — too late — that being left out means losing relevance. And when political calculation comes through the door, principles often go out the window.
MilkEwake also tells me that the activity of two obscure political operators, who are very repudiated in Venezuela, who recently held meetings in Madrid, continues to be closely observed. Their movements have aroused suspicion because of the messages they would be transmitting to different sectors. For now I'll leave it that way. Next week, if the pieces finish coming together, I'll tell you the rest of the story. *
I'm thinking of traveling to Caracas, I'll let you know.
REMEMBER THAT I AM YOUR FINE, FITNESS AND IMPORTANT FRIEND.
CHANGE AND OUT.
