Pro player Jorge Juares won silver medal at EA Sports FC at the XII South American Games in Santa Fe 2026, in the debut of electronic sports in the South American event program.
Juares opened his participation with a resounding 5-2 victory over Colombian Luis Castellanos.
In his second match, he once again demonstrated his competitive strength by beating Uruguayan Rey Martín 9-7, while on his third chance he fell by a tight 6-5 to Peru's Luis Suárez, and then gave up 5-0 against Chile's Claudio Olhaberry.
With a record of two wins and two losses, Juares advanced to the quarterfinals, where he defeated Ecuadorian Juan Vargas 10-7 and advanced in the fight for medals.
Later, Juares met the Colombian Castellanos again and, this time, he won 2-1, sealing his qualification for the gold medal.
The title match lasted more than five hours and ended with a 2-1 victory for Peru's Suárez, a result that awarded the Venezuelan the silver medal.
