Defense Minister called on the FANB to be alert to US attacks on Iran

The defense minister, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, faced with the series of attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran, called on the officers of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces to be alert, because this situation, in his opinion, could have consequences for our country.

In a video released through his Instagram account, the senior military official stressed that if the situation worsened, especially around the Strait of Hormuz, Venezuela would play a decisive role in the energy supply of the western region.

“We have to be aware that the planet is warming, and we must assume that this conflict, even if it seems distant, could have direct consequences for our country (...) Let's see what Venezuela represents in the global context, especially here, in this hemisphere where the largest genocidal empire is located, which is the North American empire,” he stressed.

In this sense, the senior military official described the situation in the Middle East as an imperialist war promoted by hegemonic interests. He also stressed that the current causes of the conflict do not respond to religious reasons, but to the expansion of the Zionist state installed in Israel, with the support of the United States.

“From Venezuela, we wish for peace, for high politics, for rationality and for respect for the sovereignty of peoples. We remain alert to the events in the Middle East and the imperialist aggressions against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he stressed.
