Defense Minister denounced a new attempt by the United States to create a false positive to justify aggression against Venezuela (+statement)

The Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, denounced a new attempt by the United States to create a false positive that would justify aggression against our country.

In a statement, the senior military official explained that the United States, with the support of the extreme right, is disseminating information about the alleged presence of a US helicopter in the vicinity of one of our federal agencies, which implies the possibility that the same US military forces could inflict damage to the aforementioned aircraft to manufacture an incident that justifies an escalation against the country.

In this regard, Padrino indicated that this new false news is part of the psychological operations contemplated in the traditional US war script, in order to justify his warrior actions.

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces informs the public opinion of the United States of America, the international community and the Venezuelan people that, through a perverse social media campaign promoted by sectors of the extreme right, information has been disseminated indicating the alleged presence of a U.S. helicopter in the vicinity of one of Venezuela's island territories, which implies the possibility that the same U.S. military forces could inflict damage to the above-mentioned aircraft, To provoke and manufacture an incident or false positive, this would serve as a pretext to justify an escalation of military aggressions against our nation, as US imperialism has done in other historical episodes such as the one in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964, in which it was alleged that its ships had been attacked by floating units from North Vietnam, to justify an increase in its participation in the war in that country.

Undoubtedly, this fake news is part of the psychological operations contemplated in the traditional US war script, aimed at creating fictitious scenarios as a precondition for armed interventions; in this case under the fateful excuse of the “fight against drug trafficking”, when in reality a forced regime change is intended in Venezuela, which at the same time would drag the region into a conflict with unpredictable consequences.

We categorically reject and demand the cessation of these warmongering and cognitive warfare orchestrated by the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio and Mauricio Claver-Carone, which seek to create destabilization and anxiety in the population. For this reason, following the guidelines of the citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, our Commander-in-Chief, we are clinging to the pacifist tradition of the Venezuelan State, but at the same time to the irreducible determination to defend territorial integrity with firmness and serenity, in perfect popular military and police fusion, to guarantee the freedom, sovereignty and independence of the Homeland. We remain vigilant, on high alert and we reiterate to the world that Venezuela has someone to defend it!
