The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, commemorated this Friday the 68th anniversary of the fall of the dictatorship of Marcos Pérez Jiménez, on January 23, 1958.
Through his Telegram channel, Rodriguez praised the popular movement led by thousands of university and high school students who, during the last six months of the dictatorship, took to the streets, neighborhoods and factories, even at the risk of their own lives, to encourage the people's struggle against tyranny.
*68 years after #23Ene, we vindicate the hope of the people who raised their voices for freedom. That popular rebellion marked our history and today the national union is reborn to consolidate peace and prosperity in Venezuela,” he said.
