Delcy Rodríguez inspects temporary terminals at Maiquetía International Airport

The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, carried out an inspection tour this Saturday at the temporary terminals of Maiquetía International Airport, in the state of La Guaira, with the objective of verifying the progress of recovery efforts and ensuring air connectivity in the country after the damage caused by the seismic event of last June 24.

The temporary infrastructure enabled has defined capacities for the smooth service of users, with a capacity for 720 people in the international sector and 480 in the national sector in the departure areas. For their part, the spaces intended for arrivals have the capacity to accommodate 496 international and 472 domestic passengers simultaneously, the Presidential Press said.

These facilities provide pre-configured connectivity to airlines' exit control systems (DCS), internal transportation to aircraft parking positions and three- and eight-ton cava-type vehicles for handling cargo and luggage. They also have unlimited Wi-Fi, 24-hour customer service, continuous medical service, industrial air conditioning systems and direct airline support.

The head of State in charge was accompanied by the Administrative and Digital Government Sector Vice President and Minister of Economy and Finance, Anabel Pereira; the Minister of Public Works, Juan José Ramírez; the Minister for Transportation, Francisco Garcés; and the President of Conviasa, Aníbal Bellorín, confirming the coordinated effort of the National Executive in the restoration of the country's main air terminal.
