Delta Amacuro celebrated the seventh edition of the Arepa Festival

The seventh edition of the Arepa Festival brought together ten institutions and representatives of Popular Power in Delta Amacuro for a gastronomic day dedicated to highlighting the Venezuelan culinary identity.

The activity incorporated for the first time the participation of the Antonio Díaz municipality, whose representation showed preparations inspired by the Warao culture, with ingredients such as Chinese ocumo, cassava and plantain, as well as fillings typical of the tradition of the indigenous community, according to a note from Última Noticias.

The entity's Single Tourism Authority, Luz Cabrera, highlighted the arepa stuffed with chipped and sliced fish as one of the preparations that identify the region. “Our identity arepa in the Delta is the one filled with chipped and sliced fish; that's what truly represents us,” he emphasized.

Cabrera noted that the festival is held consecutively every second Saturday in September and has established itself as a space to promote identity, gastronomy and the union of Deltan families.

During the meeting, traditional shredded meat arepas, caraotas with cheese, tuna and chicken salad were also offered, along with innovative proposals that incorporated vegetables such as beets to offer gastronomic alternatives.
