The recent sanction of Petro and his closest circle of collaborators, by the Department of the Treasury, is clear evidence that they seek to apply the same script to Colombia as to Venezuela.

This isn't a simple power game: it's a political engineering operation designed to rewrite history, impose foreign agendas, and discredit any attempt at Latin American autonomy. It is a revival of the old imperialist policies of the garrote, disguised as legality and democracy. It is enough to recall the 8,000 Process, when during the Government of Samper Colombia it was decertified as if it were a broken toy, all to force the resignation of a president under accusations that smelled of conspiracy from afar.

Today, the spectacle is even more grotesque: drums of war resound in the Caribbean with military mobilizations that seem to come out of a bad Hollywood movie. The Colombian and Venezuelan extreme right, in fluid dialogue with the most reactionary republican worms in Miami, celebrate the idea of Marco Rubio invading our country, and by the way, they propose that they act against President Petro. In other words: they want part of Latin America to become the world's new Gaza.

THE MAGA MOVEMENT OPPOSES WAR

! Diosdado! The situation in the Caribbean and the guerrilla threats promoted by Little Marco are beginning to clash with the fervent supporters of the Trump cabal. Many within the MAGA movement, who at the time applauded him for promising “no more eternal wars” after the American catastrophes in the Middle East and Central Asia, are now uncomfortable with the bellicose policy that Rubio wants to drag Trump into, obviously with the intention of weakening him to leave him as his successor.

They call him “neoconservative” and have vigorously warned that the killing of civilians in the Caribbean, by the U.S. military without due process, is becoming an alert for American citizens themselves, especially those who live in cities that are militarized, because they believe that if the army murders lawlessly in the Caribbean, what will be left for them in their own country?

According to Murphy, Rubio's strategy combines military pressure with other means to try to get our president Maduro to leave power. Rubio sells this action as an effort of the “United States First” policy, supposedly to curb the flow of drugs and migrants to the country.
