During his Con El Mazo Dando program this Wednesday, July 22, Diosdado Cabello Rondón argued that freedom of expression goes far beyond the media.

“The right to freedom of expression doesn't belong to you anymore, we all have it! It's not from the media, that's an old, wrong, archaic, retrograde concept like you. Freedom of expression goes further because today any Venezuelan reports with a telephone,” he said and considered that if freedom of expression were as the sectors of the right mentioned, “you should take out what the people are saying: that the work is being done, that you are being treated, that you have received medical help and in the camps.”

“But the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) is not in charge of that, that's not their job,” he ironized.

Regarding the recent attack against the national government against this union where it “demands respect for the work of the press and asks for an end to stigmatization”, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) called for the protection of his Con El Mazo Dando program, which is subject to sanctions and attacks.

“I ask for protection for this medium then. Protect me union!” , he satirized.
