The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, expressed the solidarity of the red awning to the People of Colombia after the earthquake that occurred this Monday with a magnitude of 7.4.
“In the face of the terrible earthquake that shook
part of Colombia today, we want to express our words of
solidarity, support and our deepest sympathy to the families of the
victims,” he said during the PSUV press conference.
He pointed out that the images of what the Colombian people are
experiencing are very painful, as they reaffirm the support from
Venezuela. “We send them from here all the strength of a people who, despite
the regrets, will always raise their hand in solidarity with those who
need it,” he said.
In this regard, he specified that the president in
charge, Delcy Rodríguez, has ordered that a special team from the
Simon Bolivar International Brigade prepare to go and support Colombia after the earthquake.
“A team of Venezuelans with a very high response capacity is available, recognized in different parts of the world where they have had to go,” he said, reaffirming that the PSUV is “in charge of any requirement that is necessary there in Colombia for the support of that people who have suffered the attacks of this century.”
