The resilience of our people is simply admirable.

If Venezuela has demonstrated once again, it is that it can be hit, but never defeated. This is a people that does not give up, that does not abandon its people and that, even in the darkest moments, finds the strength to stand up and move on. That is the true greatness of Venezuelans.

But, unfortunately for a few, this tragedy has also revealed the true face of those who, for years, have made the suffering of others an instrument for their own interests. They are the same people who have tried to turn every crisis into an opportunity to sow hatred, divide Venezuelans, misinform and take political advantage of the pain of thousands of families.

While an entire country came together to rescue lives, assist the victims and begin to rebuild what was lost, they chose meanness. And the story always ends up putting everyone in their place: on one side there are those who reached out; on the other, those who never stopped using pain as a political business.

Let's get straight to the point, there's a lot to tell.

Precisely speaking of those who have turned pain into a political business, it is impossible to ignore the ruthless, visceral and opportunistic way in which Venezuelan extremism, led by María “La Chick-Flada” Machado and her entire orbit of wage earners, has reacted in the midst of the tragedy caused by the earthquakes.

As an entire country struggles to rise from the rubble, they seem determined to wallow in the misfortune of others to turn every tear into propaganda and each tragedy into a new chapter in their political script. For that small sector, the suffering of Venezuelans has never been a human drama, but rather a resource that they exploit shamelessly when they believe that they can obtain some political gain.

Right from the start, they didn't give up. The fabrication of fake news, the systematic dissemination of disinformation through social networks, attacks against foreign officials and irresponsible allegations became the focus of a strategy that seemed designed for a single purpose: to deepen the damage that had already been left by the natural disaster.

The absurdity with which they have acted — and continue to act — ended up dynamiting the already scant support left for opposition extremism in Washington, rather they ended up opening wounds that are difficult to close and that now complicate everything for them.

Our dear friend MilkeWake, who is still very well connected in the upper echelons of American power, kept reporting to me all the storm that broke out from the first moment that “La Chick-Flada” said I'm leaving. According to me, more than one “gringo” came to their senses when they saw the true face of what Machado represents: a ruthless woman willing to turn a national tragedy into a platform for political propaganda for her own ends.

To think that President (e) Delcy Rodríguez has the authority to order Stanley Motta what to do with Copa Airlines demonstrates a profound ignorance of how relations between a State and a private company of that magnitude work. It is difficult to sustain such a story when it is enough to know at least who owns the airline and what the relationship with Venezuela has historically been like. The speech ends up being so implausible that it borders on absurdity.

At the same time, while this was happening, from the situation room created by Claudia Macero and Magalli Meda, a media operation had been ordered to attack without contemplation against officials of the Trump administration itself, including the United States chargé d'affaires in Venezuela, John Barrett. Far from generating support, when the foam of the Fakes News goes down and conscience comes to its senses again, the audience is worn out and annoyed. María Corina and her two girls wanted to use social networks and their list of communication assassins as a tool of media pressure, but they ended up creating a political boomerang that is now coming their way.

Because it's one thing to exercise political criticism and quite another to transform social networks into a war room where lies, emotional manipulation and the destruction of reputations become tools of power.

According to a friend close to the Southern District of Florida, the issue goes beyond attacks on Social Networks, since the María Corina swarm is also dedicated to setting up coordinated political pressure operations, influence campaigns and other actions that could have crossed the limits established by U.S. law, including provisions related to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

Brother, the problem is that when a political strategy is built on defamation, rumors and permanent manipulation, sooner or later the bill comes.

Ongoing research points to a network made up of influencers, digital activists, communicators, political operators and digital laboratories. The most questionable thing is that this “swarm of evil” operated and continues to operate, to take advantage of the human tragedy caused by the earthquakes of June 24 with the objective of calling for a change of power through a social outbreak, through the theory of a failed state that facilitates humanitarian intervention or accelerates an electoral process, just when the priority is attention to our people.

In the end, they have been selling a supposed fight between good and evil for years, they have already demonstrated that they embody evil, at least publicly because we have always been clear about who the character is and that is why we fight it.

THE INTERNAL CRISIS IN THE PUD.

Meanwhile, there is a strong division within these sectors and many are already moving their pieces to support Figuera and have started sending messages under the rope to demand spaces for representation at the dialogue table that would start next August 1.

The play sung will now be the usual one: an emergency statement to sell a laboratory unit, with borrowed smiles and recycled phrases about “democratic strength”. But in the corridors, the story seems to be different: the famous consensus looks more like a mirage than a political reality, and the supposed support for the Panama pamphlet seems to have more ink than support.
