Executive Secretary of ALBA commemorated the 131st anniversary of the birth of Augusto César Sandino

The executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), Rander Peña, commemorated, through his Telegram channel, the 131st anniversary of the birth of Augusto César Sandino.

Peña described Sandino as a “Nicaraguan leader and an emblematic figure of Latin American sovereignty and identity,” while assuring that to remember him “is to honor the firmness of convictions, the intransigent defense of national independence and the inalienable right of our peoples to decide their own destiny.”

He also indicated that his example continues to illuminate the struggles of our America for the dignity, justice and self-determination of nations.
