FANB and CSE have seized more than 1,746 kilos of different drugs in Táchira

As part of Operation Iron Hand carried out by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in conjunction with the State Security Corps (CSE) to combat drug trafficking in the Andean region, they have seized 1,746 kilos of different drugs in the state of Táchira.
This was reported by the commander of the Táchira zone command of the Bolivarian National Guard, G/D Miguel Chacin Socorro, who stressed that of the total of these drugs, 938 kilos are of cocaine; 769 kilos of marijuana; 39 kilos of Tusi. “This is the largest seizure of this type of synthetic drug in our country,” he emphasized.
Similarly, during a speech at a press conference given by the Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, Chacin Socorro indicated that in various operations, uniformed personnel have seized 210 kilos of precursor substances for the production of drugs.
He also highlighted that to date 984 citizens have been apprehended; 94 vehicles have been detained. “These achievements are thanks to the preparation, professionalism and national commitment of each of our military personnel to prevent our country from being used as a space for trafficking in illicit drugs,” he emphasized.
Regarding the fight against smuggling, the senior military officer explained that more than 428 procedures have been carried out and 980 tons of different goods have been withheld. In addition, 172,284 liters of fuel, including gasoline and diesel, have been seized; 79 tons of strategic material.
“In security operations, we have apprehended 56 mercenaries; we have dismantled 156 organized crime groups (GEDO); 193 firearms have been seized and destroyed; 1,790 ammunition of different calibers; 7,853 fulminants for cartridges; 363 bladed weapons; 14 retained drones; 3 optical sights; a mortar shell,” he said.
On the other hand, he reported that our uniformed personnel deployed in Táchira have seized 46,320 American dollars; 367,000 false dollars. “All these procedures have been carried out with respect for human rights and in accordance with the constitutional mandate,” he emphasized while stressing that our FANB works to guarantee peace and tranquility in our territory.
