FANB apprehended a citizen and seized strategic material that would be destined for smuggling

Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), stationed in the state of Bolívar, arrested a citizen who seized a large batch of ferrous material and auto parts that would allegedly be used for mining smuggling.

According to reports published on the Instagram account of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), the arrest was carried out within the framework of security operations and control of strategic material deployed by Detachment No. 625.

“The citizen was traveling in a Ford vehicle, model F-750, identified with the A79AJ4W license plates, when carrying out the inspection, the military found and seized 43 couplings; 56 pins; nine axles and 130 iron horns,” the publication reported.

In addition, this military component indicated that, according to the preliminary investigation, the arrested citizen was heading to the El Aeropuerto sector of the town of El Dorado. The procedure was placed under the order of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
