The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) began deploying troops, materials and equipment throughout the country in support of the National Electoral Council (CNE), with Operation Republic for the smooth running of the first National Popular Consultation of 2026, to be held this Sunday, March 08.

In the military regions, the main materials were distributed to the voting centers and in total fulfillment of the mission of guaranteeing the suffrage of the inhabitants of the communities, over 15 years of age, on the electoral holiday, which is the highest expression of sovereignty and participatory democracy.

In addition, the military units involved are responsible for the custody, transfer and safeguarding of the electoral material and instruments, both technological and non-technological, used during the process, the security of voting centers and physical facilities, members of national, regional, municipal and parish electoral bodies, as well as strategic support platforms.

The authorities of each Strategic Integral Defense Region (REDI) stated that they are prepared at the command of the higher command to guarantee the internal order of the homeland and military defense throughout the national space.
