FANB detected and destroyed mining camp in Amazonas

Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) located and destroyed a mining camp hidden in vegetation in an area adjacent to the Carida indigenous community, in the Mina Vieja sector of the state of Amazonas.

This was reported by the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, through his Instagram account where he detailed that 200 liters of gasoil-type fuel were found and destroyed; 3 13 HP water suction motors; 1 20 HP mining engine; 2 mining snails; 50 meters of 4” high pressure hose; 6 meters of 4” PVC pipe and 12 meters of 2” hose.

“All the material and equipment collected were incinerated at the scene of the events, to serve as logistical support for the depredation of the environment in illegal mining activities, prohibited by the Venezuelan State, in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Criminal Law, violating the legal system and national security and defense. Procedure notified to the Public Ministry (MP),” said the senior military officer.
