Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, in a joint operation with the Public Security Agencies, dismantled a camp used by criminal groups dedicated to illegal mining in the Atabapo municipality of the state of Amazonas, reported the strategic operational commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.
Through a message posted on his Instagram account, the senior military officer explained that the aforementioned space was detected while mixed combat Rapid Reaction Units were carrying out road, area and area patrols.
In this camp, uniformed personnel detected nine gasoline containers containing 1,980 liters; a 20-liter plastic container filled with diesel; two 3800 W power plants; nine 13 HP motor pumps and three metal trays.
“All the material was destroyed and incinerated at the scene of the events, which served as logistical support for illegal mining activities and environmental depredation,” said Hernández Lárez.
