During patrolling, reconnaissance and river exploration work in the Guri Reservoir, in Bolívar state, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) detected and destroyed a mining camp, reported the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.
Through a message posted on his Instagram account, the senior military officer explained that in the aforementioned camp, established in the Los Pozotes sector, in the Bolivarian municipality of Angostura, an artisanal sieve was found and destroyed; a mill; six hydropneumatic motor pumps; 200 meters of high-pressure hose; 150 liters of diesel and 6 improvised houses.
“Venezuela fights against illegal mining on a daily basis, remembering that these activities violate the established territorial order since they prey on the environment and cause serious damage to hydrographic basins and ecosystems,” he emphasized.
