FANB keeps the anti-imperialist struggle alive after 200 years of glory

The Sectorial Vice President for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, reaffirmed the historic and libertarian character of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), stressing that it is the continuity of the independence quest that began more than two centuries ago.

“President Nicolás Maduro has rightly said it: The FANB is the United Liberation Army of the 21st Century; it is the same independence, anti-imperialist struggle and it is the same people who, 200 years after those glories, have responded to the call to defend the Homeland with weapons, for UNION and FREEDOM, achieving today's glories,” said G/J Padrino López, accompanying the Commander in Chief in that sentiment.

The senior military official stressed that the FANB embodies the values of the liberators of the Homeland: “When I say that we are the same, we are the same libertarians, the same rebels, the same patriots, the same independence fighters, the same sovereignists, the same anti-slavers.”

He also emphasized Venezuela's firm position in the face of any attempt at foreign domination: “We don't want to be slaves, again, we don't want to be dominated by any power, whatever you call it. We have already demonstrated that.”

He highlighted the commitment of the FANB to the defense of sovereignty and national dignity: “We want to be free and that is why this battle we are fighting for our dignity. We are fighting a battle for the honor of Venezuela and we are fighting a battle for the honor of the Armed Forces and we are fighting a battle for the glorious honor of the Bolivarian Army, of whom I feel like his son, well. Glorious Bolivarian Army, what joy and what a satisfaction, for me as a man, to be a son, a soldier of the Bolivarian Army.”

With these words, the Minister of People's Power for Defense, also reaffirmed the patriotic vocation and historic commitment of the FANB as a guarantor of the independence and sovereignty of the nation.
