FANB seized more than 8 tons of fruit and vegetables that entered the country through smuggling

Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) seized 8,145 kilos of vegetables and fruits of Colombian origin in Zulia, which were entered into our territory without proper permission, reported the strategic commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.

Through a message posted on his Instagram account, the senior military officer explained that the food, which was transported in a heavy-duty vehicle, was detected by uniformed personnel in a verification carried out at the Redoma del Conuco Citizen Service Post, Santa Cruz parish, Bolivarian municipality of Colón. Two citizens were arrested there.

He also explained that this action is part of the Bolivarian Shield Strategic Operation “Iron Hand 2025” against smuggling. The detainees were placed under the command of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
