This Saturday, July 11, through a high-precision operation, members of the Libertador Municipality Fire Department, attached to the Sucre parish, attended to a road accident that occurred at the height of the first viaduct of the Caracas-La Guaira Highway.
The Caracas Fire Department, on its account on the social network Instagram, reported that upon arriving at the site, the units noticed the lateral overturning of a heavy load unit carrying an industrial crane.
“After an exhaustive evaluation of the scene, it was fortunately confirmed that there were no people injured or killed, allowing the troops to focus their efforts on mitigating the environmental and road safety risks generated by the incident,” he explained.
The impact of the accident caused the unit's storage tanks to rupture, causing a significant spill of gasoil-type fuel on the asphalt layer, which represented an imminent ignition hazard.
Faced with this situation, the fire brigade deployed tactically with absorbent material and specialized maneuvers to contain and confine the hydrocarbon.
With these actions, the road was neutralized, to ensure the safety of users of this important road artery.
