Four Venezuelan students qualify for the final of the Russian Language Olympiad

Four Venezuelans qualified for the final of the Russian Language Olympiad for Students from Latin America, the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) reported, citing a publication from the Eurasian country's embassy.

Venezuelans passed a demanding selection phase in which 640 students from 19 countries in the region participated.

“This result is a clear demonstration of the growing interest of Venezuelan youth in the study of the Russian language and Russian culture,” the diplomatic mission highlighted.

The mission emphasized that this is the result of the talent, perseverance and effort of students, as well as the work of teachers who contribute to cooperation between Venezuela and Russia.

For his part, the Russian ambassador, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, congratulated the Venezuelans and wished them success in the next phase.

“Qualifying for the final phase of such a representative Olympics is already an important recognition of their knowledge, dedication and love for the Russian language,” said the diplomat.
