Four Venezuelans are declared as the country's first cultural ambassador

The Venezuelan four was appointed as the first cultural ambassador of Venezuela, through a certification granted during an event held at the monument of La Flor de Venezuela, in Barquisimeto, Lara state, with the participation of cultural authorities and the Marca País Institute.

The Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Alejandro López Rodríguez, highlighted the international projection of the instrument and recognized the work of the luthiers who “bring out the sound of this people from wood and cedar”.

In addition, the president of the Instituto Marca País, Andreína Tarazón, highlighted the scope of accreditation as part of actions to strengthen national identity and project Venezuelan culture in other countries.

“The initiative seeks to strengthen our pride and national identity, positioning the best of our culture around the world,” he said.

During the activity, the governor of Lara, Luis Reyes Reyes, highlighted the roots of the four in the entity. “Today we celebrate that the four is our true sound and the emblematic instrument of our land,” he said.

He also announced the reactivation of a school endowment program that includes the delivery of ten schools per educational institution.

The day culminated with the presentation of more than 40 cuatrista children from El Sistema de Orquestas y Choirs del Estado Lara. In addition, Giovanny Vélez, Guísela Rojas, María Alvarado, Clauder Sánchez and Gladys Sánchez received recognition plaques for their careers as performers of the instrument.
