Government of Venezuela and ICRC strengthen technical cooperation in prison matters

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are developing this week an agenda of technical cooperation in prison matters, aimed at exchanging experiences and identifying areas of common interest.

The agenda includes meetings with prison authorities and visits to establishments, including the National Institute for Women's Guidance (INOF), to address aspects related to health, education, productive activities, family contact and living conditions of people deprived of their liberty.

The activities will conclude with a bilateral meeting to share the main considerations and identify possible lines of joint work.

Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to the protection of the human rights and dignity of persons deprived of their liberty.
