59 years after the planting of the revolutionary leader Argimiro Gabaldón, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, exalted this Wednesday the legacy of this emblematic guerrilla fighter who defended the freedom of the people and fought from every trench against the oppressors, heeding the call of the Fatherland.

“We remember the great social fighter Argimiro Gabaldón, the 'Commander Carache', as his comrades called him, a courageous defender of life, peace and human rights, with profound ideas of justice that were planted in the souls of peoples. Honor and Glory!” , said the head of state through his account on the social network X.

On December 13, 1964, Argimiro Gabaldón, known as Comandante Carache, was shot and killed at the age of 45. Although the event was attributed to an accident, the bullet that killed him came from the gun of his partner Jesús “Chucho” Vetencourt, known as Comandante Zapata.
