Head of State on Commander Chávez's statement at the World Social Forum: “It meant a new light”

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, recalled this Tuesday the speech of Commander Hugo Chávez during the closing of the V World Social Forum, held in Brazil on January 30, 2005, when he claimed socialism as the only way to overcome capitalist hegemony for the well-being of the Peoples.

“19 years ago, Commander Chávez affirmed the socialist character of the Bolivarian Revolution, a declaration that, in addition to setting the definitive course of the Homeland, meant a new light for the peoples of the world. Today we are going with the 7T on our way to our victorious destination!” , said the head of state through his X account.

That day, faced with the multitude of different social movements participating in the event, Commander Chávez emphasized that “only through socialism will we achieve a more just society.”
