Head of State orders the activation of Commands for the Integral Defense of the Nation throughout the country

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, from the Sol del Perú room in the Miraflores Palace, signed the execution of the Law of the Command for the Integral Defense Organs of the Nation (OCDI) to continue to deepen civic-military doctrine in the country and guarantee peace and sovereignty of the Fatherland, in a context of armed and unarmed struggle.

“This step we are taking establishes the creation of Integral Defense Commands (CDI) at the national, regional and municipal levels and their functions, structures and missions are already very clear at all stages and that from now on, when signing this Act, they must be activated in all municipalities in the country,” stressed the Head of State.

He added that this structure of the CDI will bring together public, military and Popular Power institutions that will be activated from the early morning of this Wednesday, November 12, to be prepared in the event of a military aggression against our territory.

The Law on the Command for the Integral Defense of the Nation is a key legal instrument for the country's new military doctrine, which establishes the co-responsibility of the State and of all Venezuelans in the defense of Venezuelan territory against internal and external threats.
