The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised the legacy of teacher Simón Rodríguez this Tuesday, 256 years after his birth, and urged him to multiply his vision “and apply his knowledge to pedagogy and life”.

Through his Telegram channel, the Head of State recalled that Rodríguez was described by his student, the Liberator Simon Bolivar as 'the Socrates of America'. “His genius, the promoter of pre-socialist ideas, left us the formula for the liberation of peoples at a crucial moment in history,” he said in his message.

The Dignitary confirmed that the Venezuelan People and the Bolivarian Government took “the course of the great Robinson. In the face of the siege and the blockade, the country has been able to rebuild, rethink and relaunch itself, always choosing to be free and not a colony,” he stressed.

“Our commitment is to multiply Simon Rodriguez's vision. We must do more to socialize and apply their knowledge to pedagogy and life. Let everyone talk about it and apply their thinking! 'Either we invent, or we err, 'is the Robinsonian maxim we have to build with originality and dignity the path of transition to Socialism,” emphasized Maduro.
