President Nicolás Maduro celebrated this Friday the 24th anniversary of the approval, in a popular consultation, of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, promoted by Commander Hugo Chávez as the main tool for the consolidation of the Revolution for the benefit of the People.

“In homage to the heroic Venezuelan people, who 24 years ago, exercising their supreme power, approved the Bolivarian Constitution, the #15Dic was declared the 'Day of Popular Constituent Power' to commemorate the popular victory. An unprecedented feat in our history,” said the head of state in his X account.

On December 15, 1999, the Venezuelan people went to the polls for the first time in their history to decide with their vote the destinies of the Venezuelan Homeland, deciding by an overwhelming majority to refound the Republic under the Bolivarian ideal.
