IDENNA activated psychosocial support modules in temporary camps

The National Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents Autonomous Institute (IDENNA) activated Friendly Spaces for Children and Adolescents in the temporary camps in the states of La Guaira and Miranda, as well as in the city of Caracas.

The initiative, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), was installed in conjunction with the National Governing System for the Protection of Children and Adolescents; the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality; the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the People's Guard.

The president of IDENNA, Soraida Ramírez Osorio, supervised the activation of the tents and stressed that the purpose is to bring joy to children, as well as to guarantee their protection through safe and decent spaces.

Friendly Spaces have multidisciplinary teams that offer emotional restraint, psychosocial support and tools to address situations of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

“The establishment of tents seeks to bring joy to girls, boys and adolescents, but also to guarantee protection through spaces that are friendly, safe and dignified,” said Ramírez Osorio.
